Amalgam Restorations

Although many patients prefer composite fillings due to their appealing aesthetics there is still an important place for Amalgam restorations in the field of dentistry.  Amalgam restorations are not used often but can be useful especially in areas where a composite restoration is unable to bond. For example, Amalgam restorations can be successful when placed deep beneath the gum line, whereas composite restoration have a much lower success rate.
